At St Thomas Institute, our mission is to deliver exceptional online education that equips individuals with the skills and knowledge they need to thrive in today's evolving workplace. Drawing on over 30 years of pioneering experience in Malta's private education sector, we are committed to making high-quality learning accessible, flexible, and inclusive for all.

We believe education is a lifelong journey and we honour that by fostering an environment where both students and staff are empowered to grow, achieve and flourish. Rooted in Malta's rich multicultural heritage, we champion equal opportunity and embrace diversity in all its forms. We ensure every learner, regardless of background or identity, is welcomed, valued, and supported.

As the world of work and learning continues to shift, we remain at the forefront of change — adapting our services to meet the demand for remote, flexible learning that fits the lives and aspirations of modern learners. At St Thomas Institute, opportunity is not a privilege. It is a promise.

Code of Ethics

St Thomas Institute's fundamental principles define and pervade who we are and what we accomplish as an organization.

History

St Thomas Institute (as the company was re-branded in 1996) started as a Kinder-garden school in 1980. Since 1984 Primary, Secondary, O-level and A-level courses were also added.

Intermediate level courses were also integrated as part of the courses offered when they were introduced. By 1995 around 60 courses were offered. These included courses in Philosophy for Children (since 1992) when the Institute for the Advancement of Philosophy for Children within the Montclair State University officially authorised the Malta Institute of Philosophy for Children and the Young.

In 1996 our operations were re-branded as St Thomas Institute. St Thomas Institute obtained State Licensing in 1999. Since 1996 the Institute became a founding member of the Mediterranean Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Development; a founding member of the Small States Association of Cooperation and Development in Education; a cultural partner of the NPGOM Foundation, the NDCOM Foundation, the EDC Foundation and the EPG Foundation and the founding body of the Psychometric Foundation of Malta.

In 2022 we moved the provision of our educational services online and now delivery our courses through online synchronous delivery.
